PREMIUM DEFERRAL & COVERAGE CONTINUATION PROGRAM
For Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) and TDI-like insurance products:
- Fees: We will waive the delinquent premium payment Late Fee for First Quarter (January – March) 2020 Premium Statements and March 2020 Monthly Premium Statements for premiums remitted on or before June 15, 2020.
- Minimum Premium: We will waive the $10 minimum monthly premium for any account who wishes to remain active but does not have any employees through June 15, 2020. Note: this accommodation will be effective retroactively to March 1, 2020.
For Group Life, Long Term Disability, and Voluntary insurance products:
- Premium: Providing premium is paid through January 2020, we will extend all grace periods until June 1, 2020 for the February, March and April 2020 bills to allow continuing insurance coverage through June 1, 2020, subject to eligibility requirements (see below). Premium bills will be mailed according to our normal schedule. Please note claim payments may be contingent upon payment of premium.
- Eligibility: We understand that the COVID-19 situation may result in an unexpected reduction in employee hours or unexpected temporary unpaid leave that may result in loss of eligibility under the group contract. Subject to continued payment of premium, policyholders can elect to continue coverage for employees who are on the existing plan whose work hours have been reduced or had an unexpected temporary unpaid leave occurring on or after March 1, 2020, up through May 31, 2020. Premiums must continue to be paid at pre-reduction levels (both employer-paid and employee paid-premiums, including voluntary coverages).
